Imagine Antigonish

Imagine Antigonish presents a visual history of the essential conditions for community health and wellbeing, and cultural, financial, and environmental sustainability, The heritage photos of Antigonish are organized thematically to illustrate the conditions for community health that are universal and at any historical moment. The project presented banners with reconstructed historical photos 2014-2016. Banners are now on display at the Antigonish Heritage Museum. Dance For Life

Dance for Life in 2016, showcased the multi-cultural Antigonish Dance Community and a dialogue on the healing power of dance. Performers included First Nations, Antigonish Creative Dance Association, Maureen Fraser Dance Studio, L’Arche, Ecstatic Dance Community, Scotia Highland Dancers, and  StFX/Coady students and community participants representing  Ukraine, India, Pakistan, and Egypt as well as Celtic, American and Acadian cultures. After each brief dance number, performers spoke to how dance contributes to health and well-being. The evening will culminated with a One World Dance.  Jill Sonke, Director of the Center for Arts in Medicine, University of Florida spoke at the event. The evening was a partnership between AHA! and the Heritage Association of Antigonish.  See more

Play Along With AHA!

We had a wonderful afternoon with old and new friends at the Play Along with Arts Health Antigonish (AHA!) afternoon November 14, 2015 at St James Church hall in Antigonish. There were many activities to join in on and explore and great music to sing along with or just relax and enjoy. We had an opportunity to try a variety of “play shops”.
